Thai Mango Sticky Rice Recipe

Ingredients you need:

  • 250 G. Sticky rice or Glutinous rice
  • 3/4 Cup Coconut milk
  • 3/4 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 3/4 Tsp. Salt
  • 3/4 Cup Coconut milk
  • 1 Tbs. Sugar
  • 1/4 Tsp. Salt

Wash the rice until the water is clear. I always do it 5 times or until the water runs clear.

Soak the rice with cold water for at least 6 hours or up to overnight. This step is important to ensure that the rice cooks absorbs moisture after it has been done.

Drain the water off very well and go steam the rice for 20 minutes.

While you waiting for the sticky rice done, you can start on the coconut milk syrup and you will use it right away after the sticky rice is done.

Combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt together until it melted.

Pour the coconut milk syrup over the rice immediately when the rice is done.

Stir them until the coconut milk syrup looks absorbed with the sticky rice. Put a lid on it and let it rest for 20 minutes and stir it again from the bottom to top and rest for the next 20 minutes or until ready to serve. The sticky rice will become soft, sweet, and rich.
